Shaking All Over
Seasoned Greetings!
Has everyone been having a good summer? Over here at TableFare World Headquarters in Seattle, we're still waiting for summer to officially take hold... every time the sun breaks through for a few hours, it's quickly smacked down by several days of clouds and rain. Oh well, we're supposed to be busy building a new product, not out playing in the sun, right?
By this time we had hoped to be able to announce a firm launch date for our spice container product, but alas, we're not quite there. Earlier this month we came to the decision that a key part of the product - the shaker screen assembly - needed to be redesigned. We went back and forth with the designers and the manufacturer to completely rethink the way this would work and arrived at a promising solution a couple weeks ago. We're currently waiting to see the first prototype of the new part. Assuming it works as designed, we should be able to get production back on track, but it's still too early to speculate on a launch date.
Then there's my favorite topic: packaging. This has been a surprising elusive thing to track over the last few months, but it appears that we finally have all the various tasks and pieces accounted for. It's easy to just think of packaging as the box to put the product in, but it actually gets rather complex once you start considering all the internal pieces and how they have to fit together, as well as the exterior dimensions and how it will stack on the retailer's shelf.
Meanwhile, however, things continue to happen on the marketing side. A few weeks ago we did a couple photo sessions using the most recent production test samples. Though these samples don't work perfectly, their appearance is 99% accurate so they were perfectly fine to use in the photos. This gives our marketing firm what they need to move forward with our brochure, product literature and content for the soon-to-be-built real web site. We have also been feeling quite official with our recently delivered letterhead, business cards and envelopes!
Best regards,
Carol and David Peterman
