Spot Carol!
Seasoned Greetings!
At the top of our list is a big THANK YOU to those who participated in the focus group sessions on December 11th! We don't know the names of the attendees, or even how many they pulled from the list we gave them, but we hope that those of you who were there had fun. We knew things were getting off to a good start when they told us they were experiencing an abnormally high acceptance rate when calling to ask candidates to attend... apparently people love to talk about kitchens and cooking! The marketing firm is currently compiling all the data they gathered and we're eager to receive their report early next month.
So what's with the cryptic "Spot Carol" title of this month's newsletter? Well, Carol has embarked on a bit of a research project and if you're in the right place at the right time, you just might spot her! One of the areas that we have needed to learn more about is the retail side of the kitchenwares industry. Specifically, how do small, non-chain stores interact and deal with vendors? Being the clever person she is, Carol popped into Mrs. Cooks in University Village and snagged herself a part-time seasonal job so she can be fully immersed in the retail experience. Most important, however, is that she'll be able to pick the brains of the store managers and reap the benefits of their 20+ years of experience. Yes, they know all about TableFare, so Carol doesn't even have to be sneaky about it. She'll be working there until mid-January, so if you're in the area be sure to stop in and see if she's around!
Meanwhile, our product design firm continues to fold in the last few changes that need to happen before we can send things out to get manufacturing bids. A lot of things are going to start happening very quickly after the first of the year, so we should have some interesting things to report in the next newsletter. If not, we'll just send out a video of a dog riding a skateboard and call it even.
Best regards,
Carol and David Peterman
